  • BBSs in the mainstream

    BBS's will never be "mainstream" because there are no ads. Years ago some SysOps charged for their services and even that didn't work out. So yea, BBSing is a hobby because money isn't involved. If users would take the time to learn how to use a BBS I suspect they would be used more.

    It's also because BBS aren't exactly n00b-friendly, and also they mainly appeal to the kinds of people webforums appeal to, and there are a lot more people that those don't appeal to but social networking sites do.

    Have you been thinking about BBS idea delivered as a modern app experience? That wouldn't change the mainstream thing at all.. but what I'm occasionally thinking of is how and if BBS can be delivered today as more modern
    xperience..
