I've recently refurbished my parents old Harman Kardon 330B receiver that they bought in 1977. I swapped out a pretty decent AIWA tuner for it, and the sound difference is like night and day.
Apparently people were abuzz about the 330B, saying it had a nice warm tube-like sound, despite being all transistorized. It's true, the sound has a warmth that the AIWA lacked.
And, it's got killer green backlighting, a counterweighted tuning knob, and a killer retro look.
