• Connectline BBS Software

From Stephen Walsh@3:633/280 to All on Fri Apr 21 16:45:26 2023
    Hello everybody!

Does anyone have current contact details or know of how to get the source code to the ConnectLine BBS system?
I read in one part that the source would be given out to anyone that asked.

    http://aminet.net/package/comm/bbs/CL51_Demo

I have downloaded all the main connectline files from Aminet. Any of the dev's emails either bounce with a "user
    unknown" or "Domain unknown" error.

    Stephen

So that's 25 year old, not a real surprise the email addresses have problems.

Have you tried searching for their names on for instance LinkedIn?

I have managed to track down both Mathias & Ralf.

The sad thing is neither of them have Amiga's or access to the source.

The email I sent to a joergd (The last to have the souce acording to
aminet) has been no response so fare (Sent on April 24th). #0(

    Pitty, but to be expected...

And you are sure you have the right address?

I know I've lost software etc back in the day, but nothing like what hase
gone on here.... They should have uploaded it to aminet, even though Oli thought the code was a mess...

It was the one you gave me a lead on...

I've now pretty much run into a brick wall... It's a shame, as I think Zeus might be heading the same way with Neil being MIA... Not able to connect to
his bbs, and email's going un-answered....

    I've did it with: https://aminet.net/package/comm/fido/april-src

My email address in there is still valid after 24 years. ;-)

I don't think anyone ever used it... And I've long since moved on too...

Have you tried the phone number(s)? As a last resort?

I do get the occasional reply from him. When I report problems with his system for instance...

Mine's not that old (18) but is still valid as well... #-)

Your still easy to find though!

There's a few issues with that:

    1. I don't speak German.
    2. I don't have international calling on my Mobile Phone.
    3. I don't have a VOIP service.
    4. I don't have a POTS service.
