      Title: Traditional Anise-Flavored Pizzelles
 Categories: Cookies
      Yield: 72 Servings
 
      1 c  Butter; softened
    1/4 c  Oil; + more for brushing
           - pizzelle iron
      4 lg Eggs
  1 1/2 c  Granulated sugar
      1 ts Vanilla extract
      2 ts Anise extract
  3 3/4 c  All-purpose flour
    1/4 ts Baking soda
      1 ts Baking powder
 
  In a large mixing bowl, combine butter, vegetable oil,
  eggs, sugar and vanilla and anise extracts until well
  blended.
  
  Add flour, baking soda and baking powder. Stir until dry
  ingredients are fully incorporated. Do not overmix.
  
  Heat pizzelle iron. Lightly brush iron with vegetable
  oil.
  
  Place about 1 tablespoon of batter on each section of
  pizzelle iron. Cook pizzelles until golden in color, 30
  seconds to 2 minutes, or according to iron
  
  manufacturer's instructions.
  
  Remove pizzelles to wire rack to cool, or form into
  desired shapes (tubes, cups or cones) while still hot;
  cool.
  
  Makes about 6 dozen pizzelles, depending on size of
  iron.
