      Title: Great-Grandma's Oatmeal Cookies

      Yield: 144 servings
 
  1 1/2 c  Shortening
      2 c  Sugar
      4 lg Eggs; room temp
      4 ts Water
      4 c  A-P flour
      2 ts Baking soda
      2 ts Ground cinnamon
    1/2 ts Salt
      4 c  Quick-cooking oats
      2 c  Chopped raisins
      1 c  Chopped walnuts
           Additional sugar or colored
           - sugar
 
  Set oven @ 350ºF/175ºC.
  
  Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy, 5-7
  minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each
  addition. Beat in water. In another bowl, whisk together
  flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; add to creamed
  mixture and mix well. Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts.
  
  On a surface sprinkled with additional sugar, roll dough
  to 1/4" thickness. Cut with a floured 2 1/2" cookie
  cutter into desired shapes. Place 2" apart on greased
  baking sheets. Bake until set, 12-15 minutes. Remove to
  wire racks to cool.
