Title: Barley Beef Burgers

Yield: 2 servings

1/2 c Water
1/4 c Quick-cooking barley
1/2 sm Onion; halved
1 tb BBQ sauce
1 1/2 ts A-P flour
1/4 ts Salt
1/8 ts Pepper
1/2 lb Lean ground beef
2 Hamburger buns; split

Lettuce leaves
Tomato slices
Onion slices

In a small saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in
barley. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 8-10 minutes or
until barley is tender. Remove from heat; let stand 5
minutes. Cool slightly.

Place onion and barley in a food processor; process
until finely chopped. Remove to a bowl; stir in barbecue
sauce, flour, salt and pepper. Add beef; mix lightly but
thoroughly. Shape into two 1/2" thick patties.

Grill, covered, over medium heat 4-5 minutes on each
side. Serve on buns with toppings as desired.
