MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Apple Squash Soup
 Categories: Fruits, Squash, Herbs. vege, Dairy
      Yield: 5 servings
 
      2 tb Butter
      1 lg Onion; chopped
    1/2 ts Rubbed sage
 14 1/2 oz Chicken broth
      2 md Tart apples; peeled, fine
           - chopped
    3/4 c  Water
     12 oz Pkg cooked winter squash;
           - thawed
      1 ts Ground ginger
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 c  Milk
 
  In a large saucepan, heat butter over medium-high heat.
  Add onion and sage; cook and stir 2-4 minutes or until
  tender. Add broth, apples and water; bring to a boil.
  Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 12 minutes.
  
  Add squash, ginger and salt; return to a boil. Reduce
  heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes to allow flavors to
  blend. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
  
  Process in batches in a blender until smooth; return to
  pan. Add milk; heat through, stirring occasionally (do
  not allow to boil).
