      Title: German-Style Short Ribs
 Categories: Beef, Grains, Chilies, Vegetables
      Yield: 8 servings
 
    3/4 c  Dry red wine or beef broth
    1/2 c  Mango chutney
      3 tb Quick-cooking tapioca
    1/4 c  Water
      3 tb Brown sugar
      3 tb Cider vinegar
      1 tb Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 ts Salt
    1/2 ts Ground mustard
    1/2 ts Chili powder
    1/2 ts Pepper
      4 lb Bone-in beef short ribs
      2 md Onions; sliced
           Egg noodles or spaetzle;
           - opt
           Minced fresh parsley; opt
 
  In a 5 quart slow cooker, combine first 11 ingredients.
  Add ribs and turn to coat. Top with onions.
  
  Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is
  tender. Remove ribs from slow cooker. Skim fat from
  cooking juices; serve with ribs. If desired, serve ribs
  with noodles or spaetzle and parsley.
