      Title: Smoky White Beans & Ham

      Yield: 10 servings
 
      1 lb Dried great northern beans
  1 1/2 lb Smoked ham hocks (3 hocks)
      1 lg Onion; chopped
     42 oz (3 cans) chicken or beef
           - broth
      2 c  Water
      1 tb Onion powder
      1 tb Garlic powder
      2 ts Pepper
           Thin sliced green onions;
           - opt
 
  Rinse and sort beans; soak according to package
  Drain and rinse beans, discarding liquid. Transfer beans
  to a 6-qt. slow cooker. Add ham hocks. Stir in onion,
  broth, water and seasonings. Cook, covered, on low 6-8
  hours or until beans are tender.
  
  Remove meat from bones when cool enough to handle; cut
  ham into small pieces and return to slow cooker. Serve
  with a slotted spoon. Sprinkle with green onions if
  desired.
