      Title: Slow-Cooker Beef Barley Soup

  1 1/2 lb Beef; in 1/2" cubes
      1 tb Oil
      1 qt Beef broth
     12 oz Beer or nonalcoholic beer
      1 sm Onion; chopped
    1/2 c  Medium pearl barley
      3 cl Garlic; minced
      1 ts Dried oregano
      1 ts Dried parsley flakes
      1 ts Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 ts Crushed red pepper flakes
    1/2 ts Pepper
    1/4 ts Salt
      1    Bay leaf
      2 c  Mixed vegetables; thawed
 
  In a large skillet, brown beef in oil; drain. Transfer
  to a 3 qt. slow cooker.
  
  Add the broth, beer, onion, barley, garlic, oregano,
  parsley, Worcestershire sauce, pepper flakes, pepper,
  salt and bay leaf. Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours.
  
  Stir in vegetables; cover and cook until meat is tender
  and vegetables are heated through, about 30 minutes
  longer. Discard bay leaf.
