That's where I got the source - MultiMail. I started with a copy of the MultiMail repo at https://github.com/wmcbrine/MultiMail

I had a passing thought about that. That would actually be kind of cool. But...

a lot of code to add. At least, if the plan is to download from a BBS. Though I suppose some BBSs you might be able to download mail more directly, through sftp or something. Would that be cool, Maurice?

Thanks for checking it. I can't take credit for the UI though. MultiMail was worked on by a LOT of people before me. I've just added a few features and fixed a few minor bugs (overseeing Claude).

Not me as I've already taken care of myself ages ago, but I suspect most users of such software would require a method of exchange not to mention a compatable messaging format. I suspect that "BBBS/Li6 v4.10 Toy-7" is taking care of compatibilty to fidonet given that qwk or bluewave are not accepatble messaging formats for distribution within the fidonet community.

That could work. At present I am using scp between points, currently 2 machines, and the fidonet node "Little Mikey's Brain" for offline messaging. This point is using binkd and standard ftn messaging formatting.

MultiMail was worked on by a LOT of people before me.

William McBride used to post in the LINUX echo a couple decades ago.

I'm only familiar with logging into a BBS, going to the qwk menu, and transferring the mail packets. Some boards I get bluewave, usually qwk. On Janis's board, I used to do OMEN (I don't remember why). Sometime I do Bluewave.

I remember about 15 or 20 years ago, you sent me some of your customer software

so we could exchange messages, but the details of the past are a bit foggy. I don't think I ever asked you for the source, or the technical details.

As far as implementing some type of online transfer capability into NoCarrierMail, it seems unlikely I'd do that, what with all the terminal apps floating around out there that can already do that.

I'm working on a Barren Realms Elite clone called Immortal Barons. Quite a new experience. I'd never set up BRE on a BBS before. But I set up two instances of Mystic on my PC, each listening on different ports, had Claude walk me step by step on configuring Mystic's internal binkd mailer, and the process of transferring the IBBS packets. I'd never actually done anything with

binkd before. It was interesting. ;)

I remember him being in here around 7 years ago; he had wrote about resurrecting MultiMail. The last release was 7 years ago (according to its GitHub release section). But he had done a couple/few releases around that time. That's why I forked it... there were some things I wanted to do with it, including addressing some of the issues people had opened on the MultiMail repo
years ago.

Thanks. More accurately, more than half of the commits are by Claude since I started working on it. So far so good, afaik. I'll definitely be keeping my eye

out for bug reports, but I do that anyway whether it works on my projects or not. I've worked with C as a hobby off-and-on since around 1991, but never became an expert at it. Sometimes I catch Claude doing code worse than I could,

other times, it can easily catch bugs or loose code written by me.

I agree 100%. However from my perspective, I am unlikely to use any offline reader given the lack of suitable filters to convert whatever offline format to msg and back, nevermind any connectivity issues. That is why I wrote my own that is compatible with the packed message format as per fts-0001.016 specs. The major difference is that I don't bother with the binary data in the msg header. All that gets tacked on when producing a pkt suitable for uploading to the mothership. All the binary data is unneeded garbage that stands in the way of progress but is needed for processing by standard fidonet operating procedures.

I'd never actually done anything with binkd before. It was interesting. ;)

More abandonware but needed at the present time. I've been toying with the idea of a binkp protocal app linked to libssh2 but due to other distractions haven't actually attempted it yet. I'd use that to replace scp locally and perhaps beyond.
