Her colleague from Alabama went up against the Bear and the Tide
always rolled right over him. Which is why he retired from football
    for a life in politics.

Tuberville would have been playing at Southern State College (now known as Southern Arkansas), and was then a high school coach during the mid/late 1970's. He did not ever coach as a head coach against Bryant, although Tuberville was an assistant at Arkansas State in 1982 when the Tide played (and beat) them during Bryant's final season.

Tuberville did coach against "Little Bear" some. He was an assistant at Miami U in 1992, the year that Alabama rolled them for the championship. A few years later, his tenure as Ole Miss HC would have overlapped Stallings at Alabama for two years -- two years that the Tide blew out the Rebels. He was 0-4 overall against Alabama at Ole Miss.

So far the Tide always rolling over him is correct.

He was still coaching at Auburn when the alleged GOAT took over at Alabama. He went 1-1 against Saban. He finished at Auburn with a winning record against the Tide, during a spell when the Tide has some pretty mediocre to downright sorry coaching.

He left coaching with a 7-7 total record as a head coach against Alabama, so they did not roll him as often as they should have.
