Hi. Is there anyone here who has Pistorm?

I was curious to know how it performs with a Pi3 or 4. Apparently, they're working on the PPC part, and maybe it's time to put the PPC 603 away.

I would go with a Pi4 2Gb ram unit. With the recent emu86 improvements it's become a great product. Using the emu68 image software makes it even better, and takes away the manual work.

Mine is a CM4 unit (have also used a standard pi), and it's on a carrier
board. That board then has a expansion connection to USB/HDMI/Network
(HDMI works), havn't gotten the network side to work yet.

Seeing my A1200 with 1.8gb of fast ram is wild for a machine from it's time period.

    Hi.

I need to look into it. A Pistorm32 Lite with a Pi4 adapter, I suppose that should work. I have a Pi3b lying around. My Christmas present, besides
    building a meshtastic network, is...

We'll have to take a closer look.
An A4000 for a BB server. I already have mine, ready to play some games and from time to time, I'll still do some programming.

The main reason for going with the one I did, was to save space and allow cooling. It also allows the moving of the ports that do get used to a better location via the ribbion cables. I've now tried the new imager tool, and
both the HDMI and network now work.

This is what I got from this ebay listing (366015435713):
    CM4 Adapter Board
    Breakout I/O Board

I already had the CM4 Board its self, and you should be able to find it
    closer or cheaper..

    Hi.
    I bought a Pi3 from amigastore.eu, since I already have a different model here,
    and
I'm missing the adapter for the Pi4. I'll check that link you sent me, because I haven't been able to find a CM4.

I just did a google search, and the first link that came up to the raspberry
pi site let me choose many different countries to purchase from. They also
have a link (https://www.raspberrypi.com/resellers/?q=) to find a reseller.

These guys in Europe have the PiStorm32 CM4 adapter and I/O board https://www.retrobuddys.com

While they do exist, the problem is that many don't ship to the Canary Islands or charge exorbitant customs fees.

This is a treat for myself, so I'm taking my time :D

    Thanks for the links.

In the end, it was impossible to wait that long :( The Raspberry Pi 4 works wonderfully. It's quite a difference. I don't know if there's still compatibility with Warpos, but it's worth testing.

Yeah, the Pistorm is a real game changer for the Amiga. You'll get lots of enjoyment out of the system now.

Hey there, I looked at the PiStorm before I bought my Apollo Firebird but in the end, chose the Firebird. It's quite an amazing piece of hardware imo and I run my BBS on it too!

True, taxes and import fees kill ya that's for sure. For me, there were no import fees, there was a tax to pay on the converted amount to Canadian funds. The exchange from Euros is what I initially was concerned about.

In the end I said screw it and bought it. The best buy I've ever made I think for Amiga

Everything's been getting more expensive for the last few years, although
a lot of new hardware is also coming out, whether it's FPGAs or directly
    for our computers.

I also bought a Vampire 1200 v2, and even though it's no longer supported,
it works fine. It'll probably just gather dust with the Pistorm, though.

That'd be a waste. Put 'em up on Ebay or Craig's List.

I had thought about it, but it’s not a bad idea. Access to chip and RTG is quite good. There’s no need to install the BVision with the PPC like it’s a
    heater :D
