• Multimail and multiple netmail areas

From Sean Dennis@618:618/1 to All on Mon May 31 14:51:17 2021
    Hi everyone,

I have two separate netmail areas in my BBS: the first is for Micronet and
the second is Fidonet. I have noticed with Multimail that it doesn't seem
to recognize two different netmail areas using Blue Wave. I am not sure if this is an issue with MBSE's Blue Wave setup or not. Do any of you have
    this issue?

I plan on emailing MM's maintainer about this but I thought I'd ask first in here.

    Thanks,
    Sean

    Later,
    Sean

Did BW EVER support more than one netmail area?

Evidently not but I've found a workaround for that. I might eventually add support for multiple netmail areas once I'm familiar enough with C.

    Very cool!

Even cooler that I am still connected and transferring mail :) LOL!

The easiest workaround is just to open all areas before you start reading
    mail.

Even cooler that I am still connected and transferring mail :) LOL!

I was starting to wonder about you. But I wonder about a lot of nodes in Micronet that join up and I never see them post again ...

Did I ever mention that I hate "network collectors"?

Yeah, sorry about my absence. My husband passed the first week of April, so have been
dealing with that which is the primary reason I have not been on the BBS for a while.
And I am still dealing with that and trying to figure out what to do with all his stuff we
have in storage. I've begun putting up some of the newer stuff up on eBay, so hoping to
get back at least some of the money that was spent for those items -- all of which are
    still in original packaging.

I think you have, but sometimes life gets in the way of BBS use (see above). --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v7.0

Oh no. I'm so sorry and please don't apologize to me; there's no need. I knew

your husband was ill but I didn't know that it was terminal.

I know it's small comfort but if there's anything I can do to help, please
    ask.

I understand that only too well. When my stepfather passes, I have to deal with his collection of stuff ... and there's a LOT. Heck, even my own
stuff I have a hard time dealing with.

As for your absence, no issues with me. I hadn't seen you post in social
media for quite a while also.

Take care of yourself and may your husband rest in peace. Again, I'm sorry
for your loss and my condolences to you and your families.

Yeah, we went to CTCA in Atlanta and the radiation treatments helped, but his body
became in a weakened state that he could never recover from.

    Thank you.

I am active on Facebook actually. As well as on Telegram. I do a weekly podcast as
well. My podcast's page is on Facebook as Bluff City Radio.

    Thank you. I appreciate that.

I have recently spent a good amount of money on the BBS recently and purchased licenses for the wcListServer and wcBASIC Plus Pack (all total about $500 worth of
software) from Santronics so planning on getting back to module development again :)
Need any of your stuff ported to WCX -- especially since WINServer now has a 64-bit
    option :)

Not much. Just life in general. I suppose by now you saw my previous post to Sean.

You can grab my source code at https://github.com/digimaus if you want
though that is a bit out of date right now. I have successfully created a 64-bit Linux door already using Manndoor. Once I get my BBS switched over
to Devuan correctly, I'm either going to upgrade Manndoor or fork it to make
my own doorkit. Not sure yet which one I want to do.

You are welcome to create WINServer-specific doors from my code. Just
please follow the instructions in the Cheepware License, my BSD-like
license, and abide by its instructions.

    https://outpostbbs.net/Cheepware_License.txt (case-sensitive)

Once I get the doorkit straightened out, I'll make that available also.

I haven't updated my Github repo as I am working on moving it to Sourceforge (since I work on MBSE there also) but the Github is good for now.

If you do make derivatives of my work, all I ask is that you send me a copy
so I can have it for myself to look at. I'll also mention your software on
the Cheepware page and in my repo. :)
