What I used to do, especially for bigger tanks, like 50 gallon is do a
good water change, then only leave enough water that is as deep as
twice the size the largest fish. That reduced the weight a lot usually.
Then I'd move it like that. But I've only moved short distances.
If I had to move long distance, best bet would probably be to re-home
the fish and get new ones once setup in the new place.
