Hello Kurt!
[...] I bought a book called "The Incredible world of Spy-fi" by
a guy who collects TV memorobilia, especially old spy TV shows.
"So thorough is his collection that the CIA visited the
Archives and invited Biederman to display a portion from his
massive treasury at CIA headquarters."
The shoe phone in Get Smart was always a good laugh.
He has a collection of Mission Impossible memorobilia,
like all of the newspapers, coins, passports, etc from the
fictional countries they infiltrated, the self-destructing
tapes and business cards that Jim Phelps used.
With an extensive collection like that, I suppose one can earn
a nice stipend to be invited to display pieces from the
collection as a kind of travelling museum.
At this point in my life, the emptier of "stuff" my house is,
the better.
For a TV show, they did an amazing job creating a reality.
Bond had some nifty gadgets too.
