Found this outfit in Ohio that's doing some neat stuff with NBEMS modes called Black Swan.

They have a Digital Radio Newsletter that's pretty neat. The QSP Newsletter. It's just a collection of amateurs giving a what's up in the shack sort of report that is aggregates and then send back out as a collection.

"Contribute something and get the week's newsletter. Don't worry about making it fancy. Just let us know you're out there, and if you feel like adding more, you're welcome to do so."

I caught KD8TTE just by accident one weekend dialing around and it's been fun. I have been getting copy by Winlink here for lack of sufficient antenna on 75/80m but also upgrading to a dipole that should help some in the next week. Monday evenings here in the US East I've been copying the net at 1900 local (2300z) using FLDigi and FLamp. FLamp allows for the packetization of data files and FLDigi the transmission. You can request resends of individual missed blocks of data and the entire thing is just a super exercise in using these digital modes and tools.
Part and parcel to our BBS-ing there's still a world of radio data communications happening. I like to download and print out the newsletter for a lunch break read at the office. There's nothing like some ASCII text lightly formatted you copied off the wire to brighten the day.
