• Gas Stoves

From Aaron Thomas@1:275/99 to All on Mon Mar 13 14:14:31 2023
I'm looking into replacing my kitchen's gas range with an electric range, and I was worried about the costs involved with getting a 220V outlet installed to accommodate my planned change.

However, I read that part of the Inflation Reduction Act gives me a "$840 credit towards an electric range purchase." It also gives me "$500 towards installation of a 220V outlet" and "$4000 to upgrade my electrical system to accommodate the installation of the 220V outlet."

Need new roads? Too bad! I need to upgrade my 100 AMP service to 200 AMP service so I can power up my fancy new electric range! $5,340 of your money is what it will take to give me crispier cookies and "healthier" air to breathe.

I saw something somewhere that linked this push against gas stoves to
something that China wants. I did not have time to read/watch to see why, though.

If the area is vented properly, I don't see how having a gas stove is any different than having a open pilot light on your gas furnace. <shrugs>

My guess is that the electricity lobby put more money in the DNC pot than
    the natural gas lobby.

That sounds suspicious. I read an article about it on Fox News, and supposedly "China is doing the same thing in the name of clean energy," but that's hard to believe because 55% of their energy comes from coal (according to the same article.)

I doubt that anyone in China is getting "free electric ranges" or "free 7 thousand dollar electrical upgrades." Why? Because China don't believe in wasting money. They just believe in the USA wasting money, because they want
    to weaken us.

A Chinese company now owns GE Appliances. Maybe they sell more electric
    stoves than gas ones.

Oh my, what a backward country you live in. Yes, we actually had 110V installations here -- up until the 1930s! Nowadays every single installation is 3x380V.

And yes, we even had gas stoves up until some 60 years ago. Nowadays I don't think you can find a single gas stove anywhere here (except for in our caravans), it's all electric. That's what it's like to live in Socialist Hell...

43% of our electricity comes from hydro, 17% from wind and 40% from nuclear. The rest is just rounding errors. Welcome to the 21st century, you troglodytes.

That's very true and it's a dam shame too, perhaps we will make things again here in the U.S. when Trump returns, I hear imports from China will be coming
    to an end.

I am not as worried about what is imported from them as what they are
making here. GE Appliances has a huge appliance park about an hour from
here. China also owns Smithfield, which is a food company that owns a
    whole lot of brands.

I don't have a problem with foreign ownership so much as I do ownership by companies whose government has a serious ownership stake (in all companies
in the country) and which we seem to be at odds with. I would have similar issues with companies, especially food companies, being owned by the
    Russians or North Koreans.

    Hello Björn,

I'm looking into replacing my kitchen's gas range with an electric
range, and I was worried about the costs involved with getting a AT>220V
outlet installed to accommodate my planned change.

Oh my, what a backward country you live in. Yes, we actually had 110V installations here -- up until the 1930s! Nowadays every single installation is 3x380V.

You do not understand. FDR had no idea if he was a "leftie" or a
"rightie" so left things as it was when he took office, leaving us
    with what we have today.

And yes, we even had gas stoves up until some 60 years ago.

We have more than enough natural gas than we know what to do with.
And ways to produce even more, through natural processes.

Nowadays I don't think you can find a single gas stove anywhere here (except
for in our caravans), it's all electric. That's what it's like to live in Socialist Hell...

It should be quite apparent to all that everyone is born left-handed,
and they stay that way until they have committed their first sin. As demonstrated so clearly by inhabitants of the USA.

43% of our electricity comes from hydro, 17% from wind and 40% from nuclear.
The rest is just rounding errors.

The USA is capable of producing 100% of its elecricity from hot air -
    produced by politicians.

Welcome to the 21st century, you troglodytes.

That's incredible as much as it is alarming.
It should not be permitted for China, to purchase or acquire by any means land or property or any business within the U.S.
I hear that this concern is growing.

TOM COTTON: China is not America. China is a communist country. And in
America, if an American citizen wants to buy a farm in Canada or buy a timeshare condo in Mexico, they can do that. They don't have to ask
permission of our government. But in China, if you want to get out of the country, if you want to take your money out of the country, then you, in effect, have to ask for permission from the Chinese Communist Party and to do their bidding if called upon.
That's why we should simply stop these kinds of purchases of farmland, or
food companies or from Chinese companies building new food companies here in America like they're trying to do outside the Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, doing the Lord knows what else in proximity to that base. We should just stop it. It should not be allowed.

China needs to answer for crimes against humanity with covid.
I do believe that China created covid to stop Trump.
Sadly, all those people from around the globe who died simply got in the way.

The fauci troll has said that covid came from the food market and that this person (now infected) also works at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
He is making the claim that there is nothing to see here.

Like everything else, the truth will find its way to the surface and then the real truth will be exposed along with the lies told to conceal the truth.

I believe that part of the problem is that your average American, even if
they know this is happening, does not realize exactly what that last
sentence means. I have never figured out why we do not treat China the
same way we treated the USSR. There does not seem to be nearly as much skepticism of China's actions, even when they openly provoke us.
