I think we've fixed our liberal friends. They're not voting Democrat anymore.

Al is a good guy. He ain't really that nuts. He just knows how to keep a conversation rolling.

Lee ain't a liberal either, he just don't like Trump.

Bjorn's the only one that we haven't converted yet, but he's not allowed to vote against the socialist party because there's probably consequences for that.

Fixed? I'm skeptical of any change.
Sure they hate or despise Trump.
Every time I try to get answers with facts as to why they Hate Trump.
What is offered as the reasons makes no sense.
They are not going to state the real reasons because they are voting along party lines, and they want their people in power. They don't have the ability to understand or to even acknowledge how bad things are, that are due to those policies of the left. If they only understood that they are being lied to.
Trump has been President for 4 years. No Wars, Not a bit of weakness like we see today. World leaders had respect for America and the American President. The same can not be said today.

Al is a good guy. He ain't really that nuts. He just knows how to keep a AT> conversation rolling. AT>

They are convinced w/ global warming and green energy.
These people remind me of the Dim-witted Chicken Little who was screeching the sky is falling.
Nothing of the sort is remotely going to happen.

I don't think any of the three you listed are "fixed." None of them should
be voting "Democrat" because none of them are US citizens. If we pretend
that one is, I doubt there is much evidence that he won't vote Democrat.

    On the other hand...

Jeff T apparently took his BBS down without any warning. His system was recently removed from one of the othernets due to lack of activity or

Dale has unfortunately also called it quits. He is around 80 and decided

I think we've fixed our liberal friends. They're not voting Democrat anymore.
Fixed? I'm skeptical of any change.

I'm probably wrong to say that they're "fixed," but I'm being optimistic. There are people who know how to calculate things, and there's only 2 smart ways to calculate the left's agenda: 1) you're evil and in on it, or 2) you're wise to it and you're against it.

That's why I often ask those guys "How does a Democrat victory help your bank account?" They play dumb about it, but there's an answer. I don't think they are this stupid; they're gaining something from this liberal nightmare that we're living in, but they're cowards and they don't want to explain how they gain financially from it.

They are not going to state the real reasons because they are voting
along party lines, and they want their people in power. They don't have the ability to understand or to even acknowledge how bad things are,
that are due to those policies of the left. If they only understood that

You're right, but I don't think the reason they can't acknowledge the left's failures is because they're dumb, but it's because they're players. They're trying to propagate us, because if they could convert us then that would fatten their paychecks somehow. Maybe it's the child tax credit, or maybe it's the foodstamps, I don't know, but something is making otherwise intelligent people fight for this asinine liberal agenda.

Jeff probably specializes in migrant legal services,
Al's probably in on the human trafficking,
Bjorn probably just enjoys seeing people lose their freedom like he did

They all gain a little something from promoting Democrats, while honest people lose things due to the promotion of Democrats.

They are convinced w/ global warming and green energy.

Sometimes people have "sobering moments" in their life; it's when reality sets in after they had their heart set on something else. They might believe that crap now, but they'll snap out of it once they're not longer able to afford food.

Sweden is taking a different path and it is positive path which leads

I don't honestly know what's going on in Sweden but I get the idea that Bjorn wants us to warm up to socialism, and it don't sit well because freedom is only synonymous with capitalism.

I've been accused of it before too, but the punchline is that we have a lengthy list of Trump accomplishments and they can't name a single Biden accomplishment.

It's the same deal with Kathy Hochul; she's got no accomplishments either, other than being the first NY governor to sign a racially motivated executive order. I've never heard of it being done anywhere else in the whole country.

I think the key to understanding their motivations is understanding envy.

Some people see others having more than them and say, "Hey, I like that. How did you get it?" and then they work toward getting that too.

Other people see others having more than them and say, "I want to take your stuff because ...insert bogus reason here.."

Some people simply can't. But we are creating a generation of people who won't. They expect someone to give them what they "deserve." They expect to get hired in at a CEO salary with the corner office and the works - without any real knowledge or experience (and, no, college isn't "experience").

The Elitists play on that envy and basically say "we are going to take from the people who worked for it and give it to the people who didn't work for it because of 'equity' or some other stupid term." The useless people like this idea because they will get without having to actually perform.

they do here, if that is what you mean.

A few years back, before COVID, Europe dealt with a mass influx of
immigrants from Syria, other areas of the Middle East, and Africa. Some countries were very skeptical about taking too many in because they did not have the resources of their other European neighbors. Other countries

So what's the problem with the illegal migrants? Where are they coming from? Which one of the 3 Schengen treaty countries is letting them in?

Here's how it works ... you can only enter illegally through a landcrossing or by sea, not by air..

Whatever the case, you are required to register as a refugee in the country of arrival ... meaning on the outside of the EU-area. Sweden has no borders which are outside EU-borders. Only Finland has a border ... with Russia ... and Russia has been ferrying whole planeloads of refugees from the near-Middle East (Russias's a big country) to the Finnish border where they could swamp any border crossing. It's a reprisal for suport to Ukraine.

More or less as of this week the crossing opportunity has been limited to 1 (one) border crossing only to stop the exodus via Russia. And, trust me, you would not want to cross that border in the wild ... in wintery conditions.

Now there are thousands crossing the Mediterranean Sea arriving mainly in Italy and Spain ... they are illegal but you cannot let them drown. So they will be rescued, they will be distributed over the other EU-countries in a way previously described. At that moment they will enter a program where they will be granted refugee-status or not. If they are accepted, they can settle under some rules, and be definition are not "illegal". If they are refused they will be ordered to return where they came from. They can leave, in an assisted way, out of their own free will, or forced. That in a nutshell is the EU-policy.

The thing is that the economy and the means of social-services are stretched beyond the limit by the sheer nmumbers and it becomes a financial problem.

There is also a demographical problem as most of these refugees are young men ... They are disturbing the natural male/female balance of certain societies which usually is closely 100/100 to, in certain cases already, 100/117 ... meaning 17% of the male population will not find a female mate.

There have been cases of group rape as a result of not being able to play the sex-game, which were prosecuted and the defense was "But in our culture women have no rights, they have to accept this" ...

However, Aaron, the illegal immigration experienced by the USA is of a totally different nature than in Europe.

And more importantly - how can it be stopped?

Some people in my neighbourhood will not like me for saying this, but building some kind of a wall or other physical obstruction is a viable solution ... with hindsight.

Sweden is a Schengen-country. It borders only 2 countries. Norway and Finland,b oth of these are also Schengen-countries.

Slightly misleading. They also share a border with Denmark. They are separated by water, rather than land, but are linked by at least one bridge.

Slightly misrepresented ... one tunnel and one bridge on the same road without a clear border crossing.

They also share sea borders with other countries... Germany, Poland, and the Baltic Nations.

You need to freshen-up on your being current with the "law of the sea". Any commercial traffic leaving port, leaving territorial waters and then returning to any other port, is subject to customs and immigration inspection.

Take the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa for example, a hot tourist destination. It's Spanish Territory and Spain is a Schengen - and EU-country, nevertheless the system of "free passage of goods and individuals" does not apply. There are customs and immigration checks.

Also think about it, how would alleged illegal immigrants reach Germany, Poland and the Baltic States?

If you take a big slice, you are depriving others of their "fair share". So it's up to the Elitists to enforce this "fairness" by taking your big slice and doling it out to the lazy and stupid.

What they don't see is the Elitists taking most of that big slice for themselves. It's like these people never read Orwell's "Animal Farm".

I've never read the book, but I still understand. The intentions of the Democrats are easy to understand for anyone who knows what selfishness is.

I posted a link to a story the other day. Sweden is starting to re that their lax immigration policies are coming back to bite them in form of a sharp rise in gang activity, terrorism-related activity, homicide rates.

Open borders in Sweden? Just like here?

In their case, I don't think they are flooding over open land borders
like they do here, if that is what you mean.

A few years back, before COVID, Europe dealt with a mass influx of immigrants from Syria, other areas of the Middle East, and Africa. Some countries were very skeptical about taking too many in because they did not have the resources of their other European neighbors. Other
countries gladly welcomed them. Sweden was apparently in the second group.

Thanks for these details. I wish our undocumented migrants came from such countries as those instead of coming from central America. They have a bunch of religious migrants and we have a bunch of stabby drug dealing gang member migrants.

However, Aaron, the illegal immigration experienced by the USA is of a totally different nature than in Europe.

Thanks for the explanation. It has similarities with (what the news says) is happening in the USA. It sounds like there's some integrity in the EU's migration policies, which is what makes it different.

Demanding that migrants apply for asylum before entering is a smart idea and it worked here, but the policy was erased because the current president (Biden) wants to change the racial demographic to favor his political party, and welcoming thousands of undocumented migrants on a daily basis is how he serves that purpose.

The thing is that the economy and the means of social-services are stretched beyond the limit by the sheer nmumbers and it becomes a financial problem.

Americans don't have time to worry about stuff like that, and our government definitely don't have the time either. We're more worried about criminals and terrorists entering during this period of "no background checks due to the overwhelming surge of migrants."

The other Democrats would laugh at Joe Biden if he said something so thoughtful like "there's an unbalanced male to female ratio," because that's something that someone who cares about other human beings would say.

I live in a small town and inside my fish bowl, the Islamic people have caused no visible harm whatsoever. But I'll take your word for it that they're hurting people in Europe. It's probably a regional difference; Islamic migrants bomb good people in Europe while illegal central Americans stab and strangle good people in America. Different, but similar.

"Without clear border crossing" means it is the same as the land borders
that you mentioned before while leaving out Denmark.

They also share sea borders with other countries... Germany, Poland, and the Baltic Nations.

You need to freshen-up on your being current with the "law of the sea". Any co
ercial traffic leaving port, leaving territorial waters and then returning to y other port, is subject to customs and immigration inspection.

You already mentioned that before. I mention the sea borders for two
reasons: (1) you probably think you are dealing with Americans who
have no concept of geography (which in some cases you might be), and (2) you need to freshen up on how immigrants of the illegal variety usually arrive by sea (hint: they usually don't follow the law and they intentionally avoid inspection points, although they often do get caught -- at least here they
    do sometimes).

Also think about it, how would alleged illegal immigrants reach Germany, Poland
    and the Baltic States?

Probably the same way they reach the US and then later reach Canada. Or,
for that matter, how the ones that are not even from the Americas eventually reach Mexico in order to enter the US. All allegedly illegal but all
happen. Some of them likely even had to fly into somewhere, which should
be caught wherever they land but somehow is not always. Some of our
Southern neighbors don't enforce their immigration laws at even airports.

Maybe they arrive with the illegal coke shipments into Antwerp and are
    smuggled from there.

In the case of Sweden, though, I don't really think they are all illegal because Sweden, as an EU member, agreed to take them in this case.

ous migrants and we have a bunch of stabby drug dealing gang member migrants.

A little more detail, but simplified...

Sweden is a member of the EU. During that time period, the EU determined
that each country should take their fair share of the migrants. The way
they were entering the EU would normally be considered illegal... by land,
like they do here, and by boat... but it didn't sound like the EU were
    treating them as illegal.

Some countries, like Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, and maybe even Spain, were skeptical about receiving them. As mentioned before, they were concerned
as they were not as well off as their EU neighbors. The EU blew off their concerns as "nationalism." OTOH, Sweden and other countries gladly took
    their share.

We actually discussed this some here at the time. Someone tried to claim
that the videos of immigrants trying to illegally enter Spain over an African land border had to be fake because Spain has no land border in Africa. I pointed out they were not correct as Spain does include land on the African side of the Mediterranean that has land borders with Morocco.

Congressman Marc Molinaro (for example) voted against impeachment of president Biden, and yea, maybe he knows the law better than I do, and maybe he found the impeachment unconstitutional, but he has yet to explain himself.

That should be a crime too - US reps voting against the wishes of their constituents, and then not providing an explaination as to why - but then again, who would ever prosecute it anyway?

"Waiting for a Republican president" shouldn't be an option for members of congress. When something needs fixed, the fix can't be contingent on a miracle.

Executive orders from presidents have been useless for the border issue. Trump put a band aid on it, then Biden ripped it off (hair and all.)

I also would like to see state governors punished for unconstitutional executive orders. They aren't solving anything either.

    Hello Aaron,

We actually discussed this some here at the time. Someone tried to
    claim
that the videos of immigrants trying to illegally enter Spain over an
African land border had to be fake because Spain has no land border
    in
Africa. I pointed out they were not correct as Spain does include
    land
on the African side of the Mediterranean that has land borders with
    Morocco.

So if they cross the border, into the Spanish territory, then the Spaniards
have a duty to "rescue" them?

Somebody forgot to tell Mikey that Gibraltar is an island.
And the British won't let Africans (or Spaniards) have it.

    For Life,
    Lee

We need laws that will put Republicans (specificially Republicans) in
jail for failing to prosecute unconstitutional executive orders.

The problem is when the people in charge of enforcing the laws won't do their job either.

Here in Michigan, we have an AG who refuses to prosecute the people we have clear evidence of committing voter fraud.

But isn't "derelection of duty" already actionable?

That should be a crime too - US reps voting against the wishes of their consti
ents, and then not providing an explaination as to why - but then again, who w
    ld ever prosecute it anyway?

I am going to play devil's advocate here for just a second and ask if you
are sure that a majority of Molinaro's constituents wanted him to vote to impeach? I agree, an explanation would be nice. Thomas Massey gave one
right away, for example, when he initially didn't vote to go after Schiff.
He also said he would vote for it once they fixed the unconstitutional parts.

"Waiting for a Republican president" shouldn't be an option for members of con
ess. When something needs fixed, the fix can't be contingent on a miracle.

Waiting on the Republican president might be less of a miracle than getting
the Democrats currently in the Senate to agree to it. I would say the latter is very much against all odds.

I also would like to see state governors punished for unconstitutional executiv
orders. They aren't solving anything either.

It should only take someone filing suit and proving their case, or
convincing the state AG to do so. The latter happened here.

I would think so. In Michigan, do you have to go through the AG's office
to prosecute it? If so, I am guessing that is a fat chance.

Citizens should be able to sue/prosecute when the elected officials mess up.

I want to sue Kathy Hochul for the racist way she distributed Paxlovid. She even just very recently made a law that "makes it easier than ever to report hate crimes." But I'm too scared to do it. Lizard Lips would retaliate against me.

I'd also like to sue/prosecute Biden for the racist way that they distributed clean water pipes with the so-called "Build Back Better BS."

But again, too scared. I already reported the later issue to my US rep (R) and his minions defended the president and tried to blame it on Lizard Lips.

I guess we need a special police force who the people could call when the gov f's us over, but who would that be? The system isn't designed for that level of reality.

This US congressional district is littered with Trump signs. All my friends are conservatives. I think most of this district is caucasian. With all that being said, I doubt my complaint about Biden was the 1st or the last.

After watching the Democrats play hardball with Trump for 4 years, I have no tolerance for watching the Republicans play softball with Biden. There's no excuse that Molinaro's office could provide that would satisfy me.

It should only take someone filing suit and proving their case, or convincing the state AG to do so. The latter happened here.

The AG here is busy suing Trump for violating Deutsche Bank policy. ;)

    Hello Aaron,

    [..]

We can start with strict adherence to the Constitution.

Any judge that rules differently should be removed.
Passing of an unconstitutional law should mean immediate removal of all
congress-critters involved with a charge of "insurrection" and the 14th
Amendment should be used to make sure they never get in again.

We need laws that will put Republicans (specificially Republicans) in jail for failing to prosecute unconstitutional executive orders.

Well, since there are no unconstitutional executive orders ...

I vaguely recall a group in Michigan requesting that someone at the federal level to look into this. I mean who prosecutes the state's chief prosecutor?

But, of course, that went no where since they are all controlled by the same master.

Ya, but the key word there is "should". The system protects itself, so even though we should, we can't.

It should be 100% crystal clear to members of the military that we're being mistreated by the Biden regime, in an unprecedented way. The Air Force has officers monitoring the mainstream news media 24 hours per day, and those guys are supervised by the base commanders. So they have to be aware of some of the awful things that are currently transpiring, but they don't dare turn their backs on the Commander in Chief. I don't blame them, but at the same time, what sense does it make to be in the military while the president is working against those who you defend?

Democrats should make a deal with the American people: We'll join the military if they stop with the woke stuff, close the border, stop funneling money to Ukraine, find out where covid came from, find out what disease they're planning to unleash next, and start paying down our debt instead of adding to it.

If my country would do those things for me, I'd be willing to join the military in return (if I were young enough.)

    +-[WD=>MP]

Maybe via Russia? That is how they are reaching Finland. The migrants are legally in Russia, but Finland claims Russia has been sending them to their border (and the borders of other countries) where they apparently question their claims of "asylum," which would make them not legal in the country
    they are being sent to.
