I've been a user of Telehack since a while know. It's a online hacking
game. I got interested in that terminal system, but I really don't know
who runs it or why.

The info on the www states:
"Telehack is a simulation of a stylized arpanet/usenet, circa
1985-1990. It is a full multi-user simulation, including 25,000 hosts and BBS's from the early net, thousands of files from the era, a collection of adventure and IF games, a working BASIC interpreter with a library of
programs to run, simulated historical users, and more".

I would like to know if there are some ~tilde users knowledgable about Telehack. You can find/contact me there as "juanperon".

I remember reading about it - or something like it - in either Hacker
News, Reddit or Slashdot (it was some time ago). IIRC, the author
started it with the intent of showing his children what the early
Internet was like.

Any spots in particular you would recommend visiting there?

Hello Dario, I would try the fake X.25 network. That was a old protocol
and quite popular back then among wannabe and true hackers. Just get the dialer and
use the command:

dial (511) 394-8574

And you should get access to a menu.

I also got in a live chat with an australian mate using the talk command. First you use the w command to see who is connected. Then use talk and the login ID or port number to get a live connection requests.

i have been messing with it not really sure what the goal is, i've been wandering around hacking stuff and getting root.
