I would like to share a video of an argentine band I like. I worked on=20
the video doing photography and lightning.
The Delio Valdez is a cumbia orchestra formed as a musical cooperative on=
=20
2009, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They got inspiration based on the latin=
=20
american cumbia rhythm. Cumbia origin is Colombia, and is nowaday a=20
common musical language in the whole region.
Assuming itself as part of the rich history of cumbia in Argentina, La=20
Delio Valdez appropriates that language in its own way. They resume the=20 tradition of the great Colombian Orchestras of yesterday with a more=20
modern format, unifying electric and acoustic sounds.
Their repertoire combines original works by the group with arrangements of=
=20
the classic cumbia songbooks. The sound also combines resources from other=
=20
formats; Andean tradition, salsa, rock, jazz or reggae to give rise to a=20 style that is both traditional and modern.
